We Are the Dead is a Mass Effect fan novel created by Gnostic. It tells the story of the Black Battalion, 436 Alliance soldier who were captured by the Turian Hierarchy during the First Contact War and forced to fight as proxies against the Batarian Hegemony, and their attempt to get vengeance upon the man who sold them out.
